CITI MEETS CEAP BENEFICIARIES
CEAP provides critical support to start-up community based enterprises through assistance in improving business processes, production, and organizational behaviour. The program facilitated the processing of the registration of these 5 enterprise groups with the Cooperative Development Authority. In addition to assistance in organizational development, the grant also made it possible for the groups to obtain skills training, tools and equipment.
The project is in line with Citi Foundation’s focus on enhancing small enterprises that provide income generation and employment activities to low-income individuals. To date, the 5 enterprise groups were able to acquire 30 projects amounting to PhP 8.11 million (US$ 190,000).
Their initial success resulted in providing additional income to all member households.
“Citi is committed to lend a helping hand to micro and small entrepreneurs, and CEAP provided us one more opportunity to showcase our support to this sector. We congratulate the leaders and members of these 5 enterprise groups who overcame a number of challenges – from securing start-up capital to driving sustained business growth. As a result, they have improved their lives, as well as made a positive impact to the greater community,” said Citi Corporate Affairs Director Aneth Lim.
In her message to Citi and PBSP during the breakfast event, Women for Progress of Nagpayong Multi-Purpose Cooperative President Leona Fe Edelloran said, “We are very much grateful to this project that came to our community. Especially for us women who were only relying before on our husbands’ income, our water lily products have given us additional income. This project has really empowered us.”
