Health Program

Population health is one of the basic indicators of a country’s socioeconomic development and quality of life. Hence, there is a need to prioritize the health and well-being of every Filipino to ensure the long-term growth and sustainability of the country. PBSP, in its endeavor to contribute to the improvement of the health situation in the Philippines, implemented the Health Program.

The Health Program seeks to:

  • Reduce maternal and child mortality
  • Detect and cure tuberculosis
  • Improve nutrition
  • Ensure reproductive health services for women of reproductive age
  • Achieve universal health coverage among poor families

Our Flagship Initiatives

Tuberculosis Control

Implementing the TB control projects continues in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH). The projects support the Philippine Strategic TB Elimination Plan, 2017-2022 of increase TB case detection rate by 95% and treatment success rate by 92% by 2022 through funding from the United States Agency for International Development and The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria.

Safe Motherhood

The Safe Motherhood Caravan–dubbed as “Babae: Malusog. Ligtas. Handa.” aims to educate women of reproductive age on Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health and Nutrition (MNCHN) services such as pre- and post-natal consultations, facility-based delivery, exclusive breastfeeding, child health, family planning and saving for health.

Supplemental Feeding

Dubbed as “NutriSapat, Batang Angat” caters to Filipino children who are below the ideal weight for their ages. These identified undernourished children are registered and given supplemental dietary support for 120 days.
