MGC’s Festival of Trees puts the spotlight on giving
Makati Garden Club (MGC) and Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) recently celebrated the gift of sharing with “The Art of Giving”, the 17th Festival of Trees.
Hosted by journalist and TV personality Cito Beltran, the event was held at the Jaguar/Land Rover Showroom at The Fort. Highlights include the silent auction, wherein the patrons had a chance to bid on exquisite works of art and the signature MGC Mystery Box, which truly delighted the guests.
Proceeds of the event will go to PBSP’s Disaster Response project which was launched that night. Dubbed ‘Handled with Care’, the project addresses the importance of being prepared in line with the recent disasters that the country has experienced lately. It also establishes standards for the immediate and effective response in times of calamities.
Other notable parts of the program was the first green socialdesign fashion show by international sustainable lifestyle designer Pj Arañador and ‘Tree Dance’ an interpretative performance by selected Options Studio dancers.
