Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) resource mobilization updates
Member companies and partners of Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) have been pooling resources for Typhoon Yolanda (International name Haiyan) relief efforts for the last several days.
Cash contributions have been given by the following: Epson Precision Philippines: PhP2M; Brother International Philippines: PhP500,000; and Mr. Jose Antonio Aboitiz: PhP1M through the PBSP Visayas Regional Center.
For in-kind donations, Pacific Paint Boysen has provided pails, Monark Foundation, Inc. gave clothes, while Pepsi Cola has given PhP2,000 and cases of water and other beverages.
To transport the items to the devastated areas, Magsaysay Transport & Logistics, Airlift Asia, and Lorenzo Shipping Corporation have provided free shipping and trucking services; while Globaltronics imparted their service of electronic billboard annoucement posting.
Pledges for cash and in-kind donations have also been expressed by Cargill Philippines: PhP5.2M; The Hershey Company US$25,000; Amway of Germany: €10,000-15,000; as well as Yamaha Philippines, Megaworld Corporation, and IBM Care Club.
