Giving children the proper nutrition they need is one way to ensure that they will grow up strong and healthy.

CDO Foodspehere Inc. (CDO) and CDO’s corporate social responsibility arm, the Odyssey Foundation, Inc. (OFI), in partnership with the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), recently conducted the Almusalang Bayan Year 3 Supplemental Feeding Program graduation.

The feeding project aims to reduce malnutrition among children aged 2-6. For this leg, the project was able to improve the nutritional condition of 150 children of Barangay 177 in Camarin, Caloocan. Additonal 150 children has also benefited from Brgy. Sta Lucia, Quezon City.

OFI was founded in 2004 as a response to the needs of impoverished children. OFI’s main advocacy on its feeding activities is to promote breakfast as an important meal as it provides the necessary energy to start the day. Together with partners like the pharmaceutical company United Laboratories, Inc. (UNILAB), PBSP, and local government units (LGUs), stakeholders build the capacity of the communities enabling them to prepare breakfast, administer the distribution of vitamin A supplements, and help in conducting deworming activities.
