PBSP joins Earth Day Celebration 2013
Earth Day is celebrated annually every April 22nd. This year, Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) once again shows their support for Earth Day Network Philippines in demonstrating their appreciation of Mother Earth through showcasing notable environment programs in an exhibit: Zero Basura Olympics/Solid Waste Management, World Food Program (WFP) policy on Disaster Risk Reduction, and Marikina and Buhisan Watershed Rehabilitation, to name a few. This initiative will simultaneously be done, together with 150 countries and over a billion individuals worldwide.
The theme for 2013 is “Earth day Everyday, Everywhere, for Everyone”. Local Government Units (LGUs), businesses, church, and schools are again encouraged to actively participate by showing how their respective groups adopt Earth friendly practices like reusing and recycling. Join the festivities at the Quezon City Memorial Circle with an e-lakad to kickstart the fun-filled activities at 6:00 am.
Won’t be able to come in person? Count on social media to bring you closer to the happenings. Twitter hashtags like #FaceOfClimate #EarthDay, and #Earthday2013 could provide detailed posts regarding the event.
