Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) and Metrobank recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the latter’s turnover of P24.3 Million Pesos to be allocated for building 24 classrooms in various public schools nationwide. The commitment caps the Build-A-Classroom project of Metrobank, in celebration of its 50th anniversary.
The donation of Metrobank is part of the Bayanihang Pampaaralan (BP) initiative, which is being implemented by PBSP since October 2012. BP is a collaboration of PBSP, the League of Corporate Foundations, the Philippine Business for Education and other advocates of education reform in the country. It aims to build 10,000 classrooms in public schools nationwide to help bridge the over 66,000 classroom backlog in the country.
