SMART COMMUNICATIONS, INC.

The Smart Schools Program (SSP) of Smart Communications, Inc. promotes Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in basic education through partnerships with public schools, its officials, and parent-teacher-community associations.  Specifically, it aims to provide public school teachers with internet access through PLDT group’s online access and teacher training on ICT.  This is implemented through PBSP with the support of the Department of Education and a team of individuals recognized in business and the academe who comprise the SSP Advisory Board.  Launched in 2004, this program was piloted at the Malabon National High School for Luzon, Science and Technology Education Center in Lapu-Lapu City for the Visayas, and Jolo National High School in Sulu for Mindanao.
