UNILEVER PHILIPPINES
Unilever’s Clean Water Sustainability Program has four components: a solid waste management project, the rehabilitation of Pasig River in partnership with LGUs, the conservation of Laguna de Bay, and a Water for Life program that bats for the conservation and reforestation of La Mesa and Ipo dams. The company implements nutrition programs in partnership with Kabisig ng Kalahi, the United Nations Food Programme, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, and various local governments. It partners with Gawad Kalinga to build homes for the poor, a model of which is the Vitality Village in Baseco, Tondo. Its Women Empowerment Program (WEP) offers full scholarships to women students of the University of the Philippines and the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. Unilever is also involved in the Rags to Riches women’s enterprise program in Payatas, and encourages its employees to participate in community development through the Integrated League of Unilever Volunteers.
