C. ALCANTARA AND SONS, INC.

The Conrado and Ladislawa Alcantara Foundation, Inc. of C. Alcantara and Sons, Inc. launched a four-month school-based feeding program in Saranggani province.  Pupils of Alabel Central Elementary School, Kawas Central Elementary School, and Alegria Central Elementary School were provided a daily breakfast of rice porridge mixed with milk called MilkMIGS (Milk Masarap Inumin, Garantisado sa Sustansya).  As a result, the children were able to attend classes more regularly and the schools’ drop-out rate decreased. The feeding program is supported by Nestle Philippines, PBSP Mindanao, the Department of Education, Parent-Teacher-Community associations, and the Sarangani provincial government.
