INTERNATIONAL CONTAINER TERMINAL SERVICES, INC.

Eight-hundred children and their mothers recently benefited from ICTSI’s Lusog-Dunong Project in Parola and Isla Putting Bato, Tondo, Manila. The project is a six-month feeding program for Day Care and Grade 1 students with capability building for mothers.  The mothers attended seminars on responsible parenthood, child and maternal care, nutrition, personal finance management and microfinance. The livelihood seminars were on the production of candles, perfume and colognes, herbal soap, processed meat, fabric softeners and dishwashing liquids. They were also given kits to be able to earn income right away, aided by start-up loans from partner institutions.  ICTSI partners with PBSP, LGUs, the Manila Social Welfare Department, Manila Nutrition Department, Manila Manpower Development Center, Barrio Fugoso Health Center, Manila Manpower Development Center and the National Anti-Poverty Commission.
