MERCURY DRUG CORPORATION

Forefronting Mercury Drug’s CSR programs is its involvement in the annual Operation Bigay Lunas (OBL), an initiative of Mercury Drug Foundation that provides free medical consultations and drugs in selected barangays of Metro-Manila, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.  Since its launch in 1999, the undertaking has benefited more than one million patients of all ages.  Mercury’s other CSRs are a Potable Water System Project that aims to provide at least one system in identified waterless communities, the Academic Recognition Program that recognizes high school students excelling in Mathematics and Science by giving them medals and certificates upon graduation, and a Disaster Assistance Program that assists victims of natural and manmade calamities.  Mercury also started to fight environmental degradation by using oxo-biodegradable plastic wraps that degrade within a shorter span of nine to 12 months only.
