TINAPAYAN FESTIVAL

Tinapayan Festival took steps to address the spiraling prices of flour and bread products by investing in a core program in aid of the average Filipino consumer.    The company developed its own “Wonder Flour”, a compound of wheat flour and sweet potato (camote) flour.  This initiative also contributes to the sustainability of poor farmers by encouraging them to plant camote in commercial quantities in their farmlots, thereby diversifying their productivity and generating added income. The project is implemented in two phases: technical education for member farmers, and organization and screening of farmers who are willing to join the movement.
