The Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) and NALCO Water Philippines (NALCO) recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement for a water system project in Calauan, Laguna.

The project titled ‘NALCO Brings Safe Water to Site 2 of Southville 7,’ aims to build a water treatment system that will provide safe drinking water to at least 200 families in the area. Both parties also agreed to form and capacitate a Water Users Association to sustain the water treatment system. PBSP, through its Environment Program, partners with the business sector in the installation of potable water systems in marginalized areas in the country.

The Water Alliance, with PBSP as the secretariat, also works with the business, government, academe, and non-government organizations in addressing issues on water security. NALCO, through its Director of Marketing for Thailand, IndoChina, and Philippines Engr. Albert A. Samuela, is one of the active members of the Water Alliance. Samuela is the Water Alliance Cluster 2 Vice Head on Water Demand Management Training.
