Bayanihan Pampaaralan
Bayanihang Pampaaralan is an initiative under the 57-75 Consortium that aims to build new classrooms to reduce the classroom backlog in the Philippines today. It is a private sector-led project to collaborate with and assist the government in addressing the educational concern.
One of the UN Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) is to “Achieve Universal Primary Education.” Its target is to give every child a full course of primary schooling by 2015. Unfortunately, the pace of the progress in the Philippines seemed lagging. The probability of attaining the target is low in terms of enrolment, survival, and completion rates, particularly in public elementary schools.
To address these problems, the Department of Education is intensifying its efforts to implement programs and projects, some of which are the provision of crucial resources to schools like additional classrooms and teachers, improved water and sanitation facilities, and adequate instructional materials.
With these challenges, Bayanihang Pampaaralan anchored its vision unto providing school children with a better place to learn and build their dreams.
Bayanihang Pampaaralan is a way for everyone to help in nation-building by focusing on education. Anybody, organizations and individuals alike, can share their resources through donations and grants; and by participating in the implementation of the project.
