Province Inks MOA with PBSP and DOH
Gov. Ma. Angelica Rosedell M. Amante-Matba is set to sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) and the Department of Health (DOH) Caraga Region to support the program of the agency in the delivery/implementation of the Programmatic Management of Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis (PMDT) related services in the province.
The said program aims to reduce prevalence, incidence and mortality of Tuberculosis (TB) by less that 50% in 2016, through the implementation of the Programmatic Management of Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (PMDT) with in the province of Agusan del Norte.
PBSP shall train the assigned personnel of the facility to operate and handle the geneXpert machine, and take charge on the improvement of the said area, the accounting and other money matters while the Agusan del Norte Provincial Hospital (ADNPH) will serve as the satellite treatment facility of the program, provide the manpower to be trained for the machine, case finding contact tracing, patient decentralization, recording, reporting and closely coordinates with the DOH regarding this program.
DOH shall also construct a half-way house in the vicinity of the facility for the patients to stay while under treatment for 18 months or until the patient is cured.
Based on the said program, the ADNPH can also earn an income because the PBSP shall pay the province for the baseline laboratory fees such as follow up monthly check-ups and x-ray examination that shall be conducted every 6 months.
The authority to sign has been approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan through Sanggunian Resolution No. 032-2015 authored by Hon. Rey G. Jamboy.
