Filipinos never expected the damage brought by super typhoon Yolanda. People in Luzon and Mindanao helplessly watched as the typhoon ravaged the Visayas region on Nov. 8 of last year. Immediately after the storm, help came pouring in from concerned locals, international aid organizations, and governments from around the world.
According to recent reports, a total P73.3B has been donated to the victims of the storm in cash and kind. Billions of donations notwithstanding, many criticize the slow response of the Philippine government. Typhoon victims in Tacloban recently held a rally calling for the resignation of President Noynoy Aquino.
