Moving as one towards poverty reduction in the Philippines

Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) continues to be the foundation of choice for the development, management and implementation of projects that harmonize the private sector’s inclusive business initiatives, donor agency programs, civil society advocacies, and the national development agenda.

Established in 1970 by 50 business leaders and patterned after the Venezuelan Dividendo Voluntario para la Comunidad, Philippine Business for Social Progress was a means by which the Philippine business community could enhance and standardize its funding and technological expertise to support socio-economic development across the country.

Now on its 43rd year, PBSP continues to grow as it welcomes new members that commit themselves to the Foundation’s vision and mission. PBSP has evolved into a social development enterprise by using the discipline of business in managing development programs and leveraging our member companies’ collective contributions to attract greater funding support to scale our social impact.

PBSP’s goal in program delivery is to scale-up anti-poverty endeavors through the institution of Platforms for Collective Engagements (PlaCEs) in Health, Education, Environment, and Livelihood and Enterprise Development.

As the country faces formidable challenges of recovery and reconstruction from disasters, PBSP is being called upon to take on a much bigger role in leading and harmonizing business sector response.

We again appeal to our members, donors and partners for your continuing support.  There is much to be done, but MOVING AS ONE, we can achieve the inclusive development we all keenly desire.
